The Colloidal Nanostructures and Nanomaterials Group​

Our research focuses on the preparation of inorganic colloidal nanocrystals of various compositions, shapes, and coatings, their organization on surfaces to form ordered structures, and studies of their physical properties.

We are currently working on several topics, all related to nanoscale chirality:

  1. Symmetry breaking in the formation of intrinsically chiral nanocrystals

  2. Interaction of chiral molecules with achiral inroganic nanoparticles studied through chiroptical spectroscopy.

  3. Using chiral light (circularly polarized light) to induce chiral symmetry breaking in the shape of achiral metal nanoparticles.
